8. John Dial Sr.

John Dial Sr. is included as decendant of William Dial based on researchand attendance of reunion of decendants of William Dial. No will orother documentation ties John SR to William.

9. Nancy A. Dial

The name of Nancy as a decendant of William Dial is furnished byElizabeth Dial and is based on family
stories in the Sprott family. The 1810 census of William Dial alsosupports a child of this age.

11. Jeremiah 3 Dial

Jeremiah 3 death is attributed to his being kicked in head by a horse ormule. His grave has never been located in Sumter Co., but many believehe is buried there.

Jeremiah Dial to David Dial-Allmy right and title to 154 acres on IndianCreek. Dowager listed as Susannah Dial. Date 1813

Susannah Summer McFarland

1850 Alabama Census, Sumter Co., Page 297. The name of Jeremiah 3's wifehas been listed as Summer Hopper for as long as I have been doingresearch. This was based on research did by Nell
Jenkins of Sumter Co., Ala. Nell Jenkins did some wonderful researchwork in Sumter Co., but I think she is in error on this point. I amstill working on spelling of name for Susannah being McFartling,McFarlen, McFarling, or McFarland. A McFarlen family is listed on samepage with Jeremiah 3 in 1810
census. I leave the name Summer with McFarling because of census recordsand on papers after the death of Jeremiah 3.

12. Margaret Dial

Margaret married James McFarland, this data furnished by three differentsources within the McFarland family. I believe James to be brother ofSusannah Summer McFarland the wife of Jeremiah 3.
The 1810 census list a McFarlan family only two places from Jeremiah 3entry.

James McFarland

Applied for land grant in Montgomeery Co., 7 Dec 1840.
Listed in 1850 Texas census in DeWitt Co.

78. Thomas Alexander McFarland

1850 census DeWitt Co., Tx.

Jesse Scott

Adm. for will of Jeremiah Dial Jr. Sold 14 acres on 1 Dec 1835.
Jesse Scott, son of Jordan Scott, was born in South Carolina. Thebirth date shown on his tombstone in Durbin Cemetery in Wright County,Mo. is August 1768. Because of futher proof this year is thought to bein error, and perhaps the engraver transposed the date from 1786 to1768. It is believed that Jesse Scott was more than likely born in1786. When just a young child, Jesse moved with his parents,
from South Carolina to Bedford Co., Tennessee.
Jesse served in the War of 1812 from 28 Sep 1814 to 28 Apr. 1815

16. Anna Dial

Lived to be a ripe old age, but was listed as bed ridden for last severalyears of life. It is a shame that more is not know about Anna. She wasthe female force in the Freeman household for many years and we know thatshe came from hardy Dial stock.

Alexander Freeman

Listed in 1850 Tennessee census as a miller. Bailey orphans and CarolineLingo and her children also in household. Bailey children were shownwith last name of Freeman which is wrong.
Alexander Freeman: Born October 18, 1789 in South Carolina. Hedied November 29, 1859 in Izard County, Arkansas, and is buried in BighamCemetery, located about one mile outside Melbourne, Arkansas. AlexanderFreeman married Anna Dial in 1815 in Bedford Co., Tennessee.
They moved from Coffee Co., Tennessee to Izard Co., Arkansas about1855 with other members of their family, including the Theophilus R.Freeman Sr. family. Prior to 1850 the family had lived in the area ofpresent day Bell Buckle, Tennessee. I think the family traveled with alarge group of settlers in a wagon train to Arkansas where they hadpurchased or been given land in Izard Co.
